Drip into Dripbook

Apologies for the lack of post for a while now, I've been busy with so many assignments, most of which have to be in before the end of term and others right at the beginning of next term. My mum's also been at the doctors to sort out her leg which has been poorly for a while now, but she should hopefully be back home tomorrow, so its all being busy, busy, busy... anyway I hope you've all missed me...on second thoughts, don't answer that, I'll just take it as a yes - he he!!

Anyway while I've been away, I got an email from Alex Wright, a photographer, who basically introduced me to Dripbook. Alex Wright is one of the creators Dripbook, which is basically a social network, a wee bit like Iqons but dedicated to photography and Visual Art which most regular readers would know I'm a big fan of. After some long hours of browsing through Dripbook, I came across some truly creative and fantastic work. Whats really good about Drip Book is that it has a vast range of creative work from fashion illustrations, abstract drawings and paintings, Music Photography and so much more, therefore there's something for everyone interested in anything to do with Visual Art.

Some of my favourite of the variety work I came across via Dripbook were that of Madame Peripetie, whose inspiration includes Salvador Dali, David la Chapelle, Rankin, Eugenio Recuenco and Guy Bourdin. What drew me to Madame Peripetie's work from reading her biography is firstly, the fact that she admires her inspirations (some of whom are mentioned above) "blend photography and fashion together to a piece of art". And secondly her interest in Cinema including Film Noir. I am extremely interested and fascinated with the combination of anything to do with Cinema, Fashion and Photography which I mentioned briefly when I was tagged, therefore going through some of her work became a must, so as to feed my curiosity and I was not disappointed at all.

I feel so clever) I guess Dripbook will also be a great chance for up and coming artists out there to showcase their work to potential employers or advertisers and also a chance get some networking done.
